You had an injury to your eye, which resulted in the rupture of the eye. In order to save your eye, and possibly to save your vision, we need to saw the coating of the eye closed. If we do not do this, there is a chance you will get an infection inside your eye. This will spoil your eye forever, and we will have to remove it. Also, without the procedure there is no chance for your vision to get better. It is possible that your vision will get better after the procedure but it is not for sure. You should understand that your vision will never be perfect, but hopefully it will be at least better than what it is now. There also might be a need for a second eye procedure to improve your vision further.
The procedure lasts for about an hour and painless, as we will numb your eye before. If you are a child, you will need to be put to sleep. Afterwards we will pad your eye and you can return home the same day. You will need to return to us the next day. We will remove your eye pad and give you eye drops for 6 weeks. You will have some pain for a few days but we will give you pain-killers. You will have to come for follow-up several times to monitor the healing of the eye and to decide if you need a second procedure. It is very important that you keep these appointments.
Please think it over and let us know if you would like us to book your surgery. Please, do not go to a traditional healer, he will not be able to help you.
I understand the above and I am consenting to the repair of my
ruptured RIGHT LEFT eye.
