Mr. Dokurugu Fuseini
Surgical Coordinator
MR Dokurugu Fuseini is a native of Tamale. His mother tongue is Dagbani which is the main language in Tamale. After finishing high school, he started working in the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) under the Youth Employment Program. From 2011 for 2 years, he was an unpaid volunteer. He rotated in many units of the hospital thus learning about many aspects
of health care including laundry, paediatrics, main theatre, and eye clinic. He had been working at the Eye Unit of TTH for 8 years, doing many different tasks, and eventually becoming the surgical coordinator. He also has been participating in cataract surgery outreaches to remote communities for many years. Because of his hard-working nature, compassion for the poor and reliability he is very appreciated not only by patients but the staff of the Eye Unit and the entire TTH. From 2020 he has been working at the Northern Community Eye Hospital. He is well-known all over Tamale and in the whole eye care community of North Ghana as someone who is always available and able to help patients even in the most desperate situations.
