Dr. Adrian A. Sumlemina

Dr. Adrian Abazele Sumlemina is an indigene of Northern Ghana specifically Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region. He completed Optometry School at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 2017 and underwent his mandatory National Service at the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital and Bawku Presby Eye Clinic. Upon completion of the National Service, various opportunities presented itself in which he could have started to work in South Ghana which has been and probably is still the norm with most doctor across the country. He decided to stay back and offer his services to Northern Ghana due to the inadequate number of Optometrist in Northern Ghana. His love for community-based work mostly to underprivileged communities which are mostly cut off from basic eye care access and services has seen him participate in outreaches to communities such as Bunkpurugu, Yoyo, Sandema, Navrongo, Salaga, Buipe and even some communities in neighbouring Burkina Faso. As primary health personnel he is dedicated and takes pride in providing his service to all persons regardless of location, class, and most importantly in an equitable way.
