Low vision services include a special type of examination performed on individuals with poor vision such that traditional eye glasses cannot help. Instead, certain low vision devices and techniques are used by specialists to help individuals maximise their existing vision and go about their daily lives adequately. Low vision aids that can be prescribed may include standing and hand-held magnifiers, strong magnifying reading glasses, loupes, small telescopes and many others.
